Private-property weddings solve a lot of problems and create one: the property was never designed to host 150 people for six hours. Restrooms are the most-used amenity at any reception and the one guests remember if it goes wrong.
This guide covers the decisions in the order you will actually face them, from choosing equipment to scheduling delivery around your tent crew.
A restroom trailer gives guests flushing toilets, running water, mirrors, lighting and climate control in an enclosed interior. Standard units give guests a functional restroom. Both work; they produce very different guest experiences and very different invoices.
The practical middle path for many weddings is a trailer for the main guest area supplemented by standard units near parking, which prevents the trailer from bottlenecking after dinner.

Trailers need power for lighting, water pumps and climate control, and benefit from a hose connection. Many acreage venues have neither where the trailer needs to sit. The solution is a quiet generator and a fresh water fill, arranged during the quote rather than the morning of.
Ask your venue owner two specific questions: where is the nearest usable 110V outlet, and is there a frost-free hydrant within hose reach. Those two answers determine your setup.
Wedding restroom demand is not spread evenly. It spikes immediately after the ceremony, again right after dinner service, and once more late in the evening. Sizing for average usage produces a line at exactly the moment your photographer is shooting the reception.
Build capacity for the post-dinner burst and everything else takes care of itself.
A basket of supplies inside the trailer, a simple screen or potted plants at the entrance, a string of lights marking the path, and a small sign at the tent so nobody has to ask. None of this costs much, and together it is the difference between an amenity and an apology.

Two to four months for a peak-season Saturday in this region. Trailer inventory is limited and commits early. If your date is sooner, call anyway — configurations using standard units have much more flexibility.
It is not a public accommodation, but if any guest uses a wheelchair, walker or cane, an accessible unit on a firm approach is the considerate choice and costs little relative to the overall budget.
