Events fail at the restrooms more often than they fail anywhere else. Attendance beats projections, a hot afternoon triples usage, and a line forms that people remember longer than the headliner. Event portable restroom rental is a planning exercise, not just a delivery, and the planning is the part we care about most.
We work with park boards, fire departments, race directors, church committees and tournament organizers across Harrisburg, Sioux Falls, Tea, Brandon and Lennox. The conversation always starts with three numbers — expected attendance, hours of operation, and whether alcohol is served — because those three drive everything else.
Sizing the restroom bank for your crowd
The common baseline is one standard unit per 50 attendees for a four-hour event. From there, adjust: add roughly 15 to 20 percent when alcohol is served, add units for events running six hours or longer, and add capacity for hot weather because water consumption drives usage.
| Attendance | 4-hour event | 8-hour event with alcohol |
|---|
| 100 guests | 2 units | 3–4 units |
| 250 guests | 4–5 units | 7–8 units |
| 500 guests | 8–10 units | 13–15 units |
| 1,000 guests | 16–20 units | 25–30 units |
Placement and crowd flow
Cluster units in two or three groups rather than one long wall. A single bank creates a bottleneck and a queue that crosses your vendor row; distributed banks spread the load and shorten walking distance from the far end of the grounds.
Keep restrooms visible but not central. Downwind of food service, off the main sightline from a stage, near a light source for evening events, and always on ground a truck can reach for a mid-event refresh. Face doors away from high-traffic paths so an open door does not become part of the scenery.
Mid-event servicing for multi-day schedules
For a two- or three-day festival, an overnight or early-morning refresh transforms day two. We pump, wash and restock every unit before gates open so the second day starts clean rather than compounding the first.
For single-day events with heavy attendance, an on-call attendant visit during the lull between the afternoon and evening peak achieves the same thing at lower cost.
Accessibility, handwashing and the details inspectors ask about
Public events should include at least one ADA accessible unit, placed on a firm level approach that a wheelchair can reach without crossing loose gravel or turf. Where food is served, plan handwashing stations near the vendor row — health inspectors in this region ask about them routinely.
We can also supply extra paper stock to your volunteer crew so a mid-day restock does not require a phone call.
- ADA accessible units on a firm, level, reachable approach
- Hand washing stations positioned near food vendors
- Extra toilet paper and sanitizer staged with your volunteer team
- Early placement the day before so setup crews are not working around trucks
- Same-day teardown so the grounds are clear for the park board
What event rentals cost
Event pricing reflects unit count, the number of service visits, delivery timing and how far the site is from Harrisburg. Weekend and holiday windows book out first, so the same order placed in March costs less trouble than the same order placed the Tuesday before.
We quote the full package — delivery, placement, servicing and teardown — as one number so your committee is not reconciling surprise fees after the event.
